In a nutshell: Commentary reflects on the implementation of the End of Life Care Strategy and the subsequent guidance Delivering BetterCare at the End of Life: The Next Steps and suggests that the aim of the delivery of evidence-based service delivery is dependent on robust knowledge of what works well. It is acknowledged that it will take time to acquire and apply the knowledge however commissioners and service providers are urged to work together to compile local evidence of effective practice and learn from the experiences of other localities.
