In a nutshell: This article looks at a pilot nurse-led hospice at home programme, delivering respite care to children with life-threatening conditions, which was established in 2014. The role of the hospice team included: emotional and social support; provision of information, support, education and training where needed to all carers; 24 h end-of-life care; bereavement support and respite in the home.
