In a nutshell: A theoretical model was developed to illustrate the relationship between volunteering and hospice sustainability. It demonstrates the factors necessary for hospice sustainability and the reciprocal impact that these factors and volunteering have on each other. The model has a practical application as an assessment framework and strategic planning tool.

In a nutshell:  The Alzheimer’s Disease Home Hospice Knowledge Scale proved to be a valid and reliable tool to assess knowledge about hospice care in the area of Alzheimer’s disease. It might provide an effective tool for palliative care nurses to communicate with family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease at the end of life.
